Pratapgarh, March, 29 : A Dalit was today shot dead allegedly by four persons of an upper caste over a dispute related to a village drain in Manikpur police area.
Rajaram Saroj was shot dead over a dispute related to a drain constructed under MNREGS in Panigo village this morning, official sources said.
Tension prevailed in the village after the incident and heavy force has been deployed, police said.
A case has been lodged against the accused on a complaint by his brother Ramkumar, who is the village head.
