A Dalit was allegedly beaten to death over a petty dispute in Chandpa area here, police sources said.
Manoj Kumar Jatav was beaten to death by seven persons after he refused to give them a lift on his tractor in Rohai village last night, they said.
Agitated with the killing, members of the Jatav community today kept the body on the road and blocked Hathras-Agra route demanding ex-gratia, police said.
The road blockade was later lifted on the assurance of the administrative officers.
Circle officer Shashi Shekhar Dixit said that an FIR has been lodged against seven persons, including two real brothers, and efforts were being made to arrest them.
