Congress may ally with small parties in Uttar Pradesh: Digvijay Singh

Bareilly (UP), January, 31 : Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today said the party may enter into an electoral alliance with small parties before the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, which is due next year. 
Congress has started discussion over possible alliance with smaller parties in UP before state assembly election and talks are being held with leaders of such outfits, Singh, who was in Bareilly to offer a chaadar at Hazrat Dargah on behalf of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, said.

"Serious discussions are being held on electoral alliance with smaller parties to dislodge the corrupt BSP government in the state," he said.

"They will construct temple where there is dispute, they will hoist national flag at a place where there is a possibility of trouble," Singh said, referring to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

He said that Congress had no enmity with the RSS, its opposition was against their ideology.

Referring to Uttar Pradesh government, Singh said that every person, who voted in favour of BSP was feeling disappointed.

Dalit atrocities are at the peak under the Mayawati government, which is said to be pro-Dalits. Dalit and backward community women are being sexually assaulted, he alleged.
