Court directs police to register case in Dalit rape incident

Muzaffarnagar, January, 14 : A local court has directedthe police to register a case against three persons forallegedly raping a Dalit woman at Jamalpur village here.
The local court yesterday directed the police to actagainst the three accused after a petition filed by the Dalitvictim alleged that no action has been taken on her complaint.

The woman had also alleged in her written complaint thatthe police refused to register an FIR in the case, prosecutionsaid.

The victim had gone to give lunch to her husband in thefields when the accused Manoj, Sudesh and Sanjiv abducted herand gangraped her at gun point on October 15, 2010. They alsothreatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed thematter to anyone, police said.

All the accused are absconding and a probe is on to nabthem, they said.

Meanwhile, the police today registered a case against theaccused.

In a separate incident, a five-year-old girl wasallegedly raped by her neighbour Yogesh Kumar at Shivpurihere, police said.

In another incident, a 22-year-old man was sodomised bythree others at gun point at Malendi village here, policesaid.

A case has been registered against three persons underIPC section 377 (sodomising), they said.

The victim, waiting on a bus stand, was abducted andsodomised yesterday after the accused lured him by offeringlift in their vehicle, police said.

All the accused are absconding and an investigation is onto nab them, they added.
